Blue Hill Bach vocalists perform scenes and airs from John Gay’s popular 1728 ballad opera, edited, directed and narrated by lutenist Grant Herreid

Panel Discussion

Beggar’s director Grant Herreid, New Surry Theater director Lorianne Sitzabee, and music and opera historian Natasha Roule join BHB artistic director Stephen Hammer for a Zoom panel discussion of the Beggar’s Opera, Kurt Weill and Berthold Brecht’s Threepenny Opera from 1928, and the Macheath character throughout theatrical and musical history.
