Artist Biography

Brad Tatum

horn, trumpet
Brad Tatum

Principal Natural Horn with the Washington Bach Consort, Bach Society of Minnesota, and The Thirteen Choir and Orchestra, Dr. Bradley Tatum has performed on multiple horns across the nation. Reviewers from the Washington Post have praised his “beautiful pure sound on the natural horn” and the Washington Classical review loved his “outstanding natural horn solo in Quoniam tu solus sanctus” from Bach’s B Minor Mass. He has also been heard as principal horn or soloist with the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, North Carolina Baroque Orchestra, Bach Collegium San Diego, and Bach Collegium Fort Wayne. As a modern hornist he plays with many of Washington D.C’s orchestras and choirs. Recently, he has also specialized in performing on Bach’s rare Corno da Tirarsi(slide horn). He holds graduate degrees in horn performance from the University of Maryland and the Lynn Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor’s in Music education from the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music.
